I get my exercise by taking walks or hiking because I don’t have time to go to a gym and also gyms just make me uncomfortable. Not only is it a great way to get active, but it is usually the only time I have to myself as a busy mom. And I am sure grateful right now that this is my weekly exercise, because of the whole social distancing thing.
Sometimes, hiking or taking a walk gets old. Or you’ve listened to the same playlist or podcast a million times and want something new. Or maybe, you don’t often get out to hike or take a walk. Or maybe, you are a gym person and your gym is currently closed because of COVID-19. I know that lately, I have been a little more stressed out than normal because of what’s going on in the world with the Carona Virus. That is why it was the perfect timing to try SilentHike by MindTravel. **Please note, a courtesy download was sent to me free of charge. I only review and recommend products that I love.
What is MindTravel?
MindTravel is a meditative and immersive experience with interactive group experiences all over the United States, with live-to-headphones ‘Silent’ Piano, SilentHike and Floating Meditation experiences in gorgeous outdoor spaces with beautiful scenery and iconic theaters. Created by composer and entrepreneur Murray Hidary, the evocative and inspirational experience calms the mind and soul.
But now, you can enjoy this experience at home. I know there are a few of you out there getting antsy or overwhelmed with homeschooling, that needs a break. Or, you just need a change in your routine. I can tell you that SilentHike has been a lifesaver for me, especially because I do not do social distancing well. I am a super extrovert, and I have not been coping, AT ALL!! So this experience, while walking down to the creek and hiking back up, has been very soothing and calming. It is what I needed.
What is SilentHike?
SilentHike is a 30 or 60-minute digital download, with calming music and guided relaxation voiced by Murray Hidary that you can choose a 30 or 60 minute, to relax your mind and exercise your body. You don’t have to hike either, take a walk around your house or down the road, and enjoy the calming of your soul and body. The goal is not necessarily to get anywhere but to enjoy the experience and enjoy being surrounded by Nature. Truly a relaxing and enjoyable experience, I loved this break from the craziness of the world right now.
What Other Downloads Can You Find at MindTravel?
Besides SilentHike, there are other downloads that can be found at MindTravel to ease and relax the mind or even become more in tune. These include:
- Deep – daily meditation
- Deeper – for better sleep
- Focus – increase focus and creativity (I could use this while I am at work!)
- Inspiration – increase and expand inspiration (I could use this when I am writing!)
- Hear – part of a series of albums centered around the human senses of perception
- Taste – part of a series of albums centered around the human senses of perception
I would recommend a great pair of Bluetooth headphones. My personal preference is a pair made by Soundpeats, that my mom got me for Christmas. I can use one at a time or both together, and they were perfect for this meditative and listening experience during the last few weeks. I can use one at a time or both together, and the rechargeable case is awesome for on the go. These last about 30-35 hours.
Would SilentHike be a good fit for you? Or, what other downloads would you try or find helpful? I would love one of these days to try one of MindTravel’s interactive group experiences. Until then, I’ll enjoy my SilentHike at home.

Thanks for this information. Starting my walking back up. Generally go to my son’s gym and enjoy that tremendously. But in this current environment, the walk just seems the best option. Thanks,

Yes!!! Even thought we are shelter in place in Montana, our governor is really encouraging people to get outside.

Hello! What a great idea! I am 9 miles in the country and laid off from work. The weather and my recent surgery have not been conducive of walking/hiking. But… I love the idea of doing a meditation download. Thanks for the references!
