We all like to travel in different ways. I like to camp instead of taking trips. Sometimes, we want to keep things as lowkey and authentic as possible. But occasionally, it’s nice to go all out and bring in a few luxury elements. Regardless of how you usually like to travel or camp, if you’d love to be able to add an air of luxury to your next camping trip, we’re going to take a look at five ways you’ll be able to do that.
6 Ways to Add Luxury to Your Next Camping Trip
1. Choose a Luxury Location
To start with, if you want to be able to dip your toe into some luxury elements, you need to make sure that you’re choosing a location that will offer them. So, rather than going somewhere that will be too remote, you need to make sure that you opt for a location that has great restaurants nearby or modern facilities in the closest town. This then gives you access to the things you would like to experience. After a camping trip, a dip at the closest hot springs resort or fancy restaurant can make you feel like a million bucks. Or choose a glamping adventure instead.
2. Take A Camper
When it comes to the transport side of things, luxury might mean upgrading your flight to business or first class. But for camping, for me, luxury means taking the camper or RV instead of tent camping. If you are planning a special occasion, this could be exactly what you’re looking for. Think about the deals you can get and look to elevate your experience from the start. If you don’t own a camper or RV, you can rent one instead.
3. Enjoy a Detailed Itinerary
To some, the ultimate luxury will always be lying by the side of the pool, and that’s okay. But if you know that you’d love to indulge in different activities and explore some of the finer things each trip has to offer, planning a detailed itinerary of exploration can offer you that. You might want to look at different trips and tours, sourcing a boat rental company for a decadent day out on the water, or even something like a wine tasting. It’s often the kind of experiences you have that can make things feel more luxurious. One of the best camping trips we went on was when we opted to do a guided river float.
4. Dine at Incredible Restaurants
The next thing for you to look at here is where you’ll dine out. You’ll find that choosing some of the best restaurants, cafes, and bars in the area you’re visiting will really enhance your experience. Usually, we camp in the middle of nowhere. But sometimes it’s nice to go get a great meal, especially on the way home. This doesn’t always mean the most expensive, however. Some of the best food you’ll have will often be off the beaten path and found in little holes in the wall! So, make sure that you ask for recommendations from locals. There’s nothing more luxurious than enjoying some of the best wine around.
5. Pack Like a Pro
Lastly, you’re also going to want to make sure that you have the right outfits with you. Luxury doesn’t always have to be about spending the most money, as we’ve seen. But it can mean that you’re looking to feel your best and enjoy a more decadent experience. Here, what you wear can make all the difference. Make sure that you’re packing outfits that you feel amazing in. When you know that you feel amazing, it’s going to add to the extravagant experience you’re looking to have overall. Sometimes you deserve to spend the extra buck on the expensive coat.
6. Bring Luxury From Home
Last but not least, luxury doesn’t mean you have to be spendy or go glamping. It can also mean bring that extra item you usually wouldn’t take with you. Some luxury camping items are a pop-up toilet, fancy candles, or a camping shower. When our family backpacks, luxury items are a special treat, such as a pack of cards or a book. What is your “luxury” camping item?
